Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024Stevie Wonder quit MoTown in 1970, and put out two albums by himself. Berry Gordy was shocked when Stevie Wonder told him this. Berry Gord accepted Stevie Wonder's request to have more freedom and control of his creativity over his entire catalog of songs. Stevie Wonder signed a 13 million dollar MoTown Records contract in 1972. This entitles Stevie Wonder to a higher royalty rate and more full creative control as well as the right to his own music, that very few artists had at that time period. The songs of Stevie Wonder could now address controversial issues such as poverty, war and drugs. In 1972, he came out with Music Of My Mind, his first album in the brand new MoTown agreement. Talking Book was Stevie Wonder's album in late 1972. It's still a significant piece music. It included Superstition as the top song.
